Some noteworthy changes

You'll notice some changes coming to the blog. I'm including more links to articles I'm sharing on Twitter, along with my original content from Instagram. I haven't forgotten about a podcast, still working on making it something not cringeworthy... just awkward!

Sadly we lost a family member today...

A little dramatic I know. We lost one of our Ranch dogs today. A sweet German Healer mix named Bear. She was nine years old and Franken-daughters favorite. She'll be missed.

And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul

In other news.

Last week we had a turn in temperature, finally bringing some much needed snow to our local mountains.

We also found a new pup someone had abandoned in the desert. He’s a sweet adolescent Rottweiler male. No food issues and behaves nicely with our other pups. We’ll ensure he’s kept fed and safe for as long as he chooses this place as home.

We also had a chance to hang out at the Lake Havasu Balloon Festival. Franken-daughter wa running the lights for the main stage Friday night.

While I walked around and tasted some fair food.

It was a good night, and a good end to a long week.

After the rains, hanging out with the neighbors

Hanging out with the neighbors this afternoon, luckily I always keep some horse treats in the car. I was sitting here, talking with them for a few minutes handing out a treat or two, and realized that this was the longest conversation I've had all week with someone other than a coworker. I'm glad to report that after another long night at work, I'll take a couple of vacation days and get to spend sometime with people I actually like.

Oh life in the sticks.

After 117 days of no rain!

Finally moisture from above!

It's been a long dusty period of no rain here in the sticks, glad to see a little something falling. We sure can use the rain, and we are a hoping and a praying for some good fortunes thus month as rain is concerned. The desert is normally dry, but this prolonged period has been brutal. The roads are soft and deteriorating the grass that sustains herds of Pronghorn sheep, cattle, and mule deer is just about gone, between the short freeze we had and just dry conditions it is getting a little rough out there.

Well hopefully that will change with a little moisture from above.

Life update.
