Spring weather

Well, it started raining around eleven this morning, and beside the few hours of sun this afternoon, it's been raining ever since. Which is  a good thing, our weeds were looking a bit parched...

Another day of progress...

All the plumbing is set, and all the insulation is in. Didn't get the shower doors up, but we're getting there.

Bathroom project...

Have the floor in, plumbing done, and 80 % of the drywall in. Need to finish the electrical work then the odds and ins....

Some real life data

It isn't hot today, but it is clear. So I took a few readings of the outside and inside of the west wall, it is late afternoon, 4pm. It does look as though the radiant barrier (which I might double to add a bit of R-value) is going to do a nice job keeping the heat out.

Another improvement, will also be a coating of Henery's Envirowhite roof coating, which will added to the R-19 that will be on the ceiling, with luck this summer will be comfortable.

Was making headway...

Still trying to get over whatever it is I have, so I'm looking for small projects to do and stay out of the 30 mph winds we have today. So back to the 'Winter Room' to continue sealing and insulating. I was able to start and almost finish the western wall. I'm using a radiant barrier instead of fiberglass due to the width of the wall only being 3 in. Originally this room was going to be uninsulated, so a 2x3 wall was lighter and quicker to put up...
