Had some visitors this morning, so R&R was in order, then some work, quick trip in the suzuki to help the neighbor with a tempamental quad, then dinner while watching the sunset....

Been a while since my last post

Summer is here. There is still a lot of work to be done on our new living space. Progress has been slow, there has been a few special projects that got in the way. We had hoped that we would be done before the real hot weather got here, but it looks as though we'll have to deal with it.
If my work schedule would cooperate we could have this done in a couple of weeks.
As far as the weather, it has been a very mild spring. We had a few days of triple digits, but for the most part its been around the 70-80 degree mark. With some luck Monsoons will be mild as well, not to say we couldn't use the rain, just don't need it all in two events like last year.
Power wise, we have more than enough for this time of year, and still haven't had time to get the new solar panels up. When we do, then its really gonna be like a real house.

Also the new goat is settled in, we still have all four dogs, and the bunny is still alive. So I guess we are doing well!

Our one year anniversary

Last Sunday it was 108, today, dark clouds, rain, and its 65... It was so hot last week that I ran out of steam before I had a chance to put the roof on the goat pen. Since its raining today, I thought I might just want to do that. So up in the rain I go, and a few minutes later and a bit of shower, the goat pen is DONE!

Taking a quick break

Building a post & beam stable and yard for the new goat today. Its about 95 degrees so I think I've earned this break. Sitting down having a glass of sweet tea!

Fun day...

Called the wife on lunch today, heard a blood-curling scream in the back ground... Turns out to be the daughters new goat... Its official, we're a working ranch now.

Been a few days...

We had family out over the weekend for some BBQ'ing and shooting, so I didn't have time (who am I kidding I had to work all weekend!) to post any pictures. But I did get a chance to hang another storm door. This one was the orginal one on our old house. (living green just isn't about electric usage, its also about reuseing building materials.) so far I would say our house is 90% recycled materials!

I also bought the wife a 'Hulo hoe' (no its not a hooker from Hawaii its also known as an 'action hoe') and she's been busy...
