Every time I travel north to Salt Lake City, I have to stop by the LDS Temple. Although I’m not a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints, my ancestors were. Making their way to the valley in 1848, and later were sent to help settle St. George in 1861, then further south into Arizona and eventually into Southern California. Every time I drive through that area I like to stop and give them a remembering thought to what they dedicated their lives to. I can’t imagine what it’s like to travel across the country by horse and wagon, to arrive in your new home during a famine, having to rely on weeds and roots to sustain yourself and your family, all the while building a new home and community. #History #Family #lategram
