Hanover Man Dies in Hiking Accident at Interstate State Park

(KNSI) — A 39-year-old man from Hanover is dead after he fell while hiking at Interstate State Park in Taylors Falls on Saturday.

The Chisago County Sheriff's Office said just before 7:45 Saturday evening, Nathan Darval was hiking in an off-trail, rocky portion of the park. They say he fell from the rocks and suffered "severe, life-threatening injuries." Life-saving efforts were performed at the scene, and Darval was taken to a hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, where he was pronounced dead.

The U.S. National Parks Service, Lakes Region EMS, and the Taylors Falls Fire Department assisted at the scene.
